Journaling by 5's Session 2
Quick post.... this is the second session for the Journaling by 5's art journal challenge. See my previous post for details on how it works.
Journaling By 5's Challenge Session 1
Ok, right now you are scratching your head asking "What on earth is Journaling by 5's?" Quite simply, you create a 20 page art journal in 5 sessions. Each session is timed at 15 minutes. There are 10 prompts. For each session, you have 15 minutes to complete the prompts for that session on all 20 pages. You have about 45 seconds to spend on each page.
It was not as easy as it looked as I watched one YouTube video after another. It forces your left brain to relax and let the right brain work. You don't have time to plan anything. You just do it. This exercise is to just get something down on paper. However, after you go through all 5 sessions, you can have free play, not timed.. this lets you go and spruce things up, add things, fix things, etc.
Here is how it goes
5 sessions
10 prompts
15 minutes
20 pages
This is the Facebook group I joined https://www.facebook.com/groups/journalingby5s/?fref=nf
Here is a video of my first session. I did speed some of it up, the creating part.
Thanks for watching and look for the next session.

Watercolor Zentangle Art Journal Page
Good afternoon...
I am home right now. I had a mishap at work this morning. I was heading in to the building and slipped on some ice. I twisted my back and my left knee... ouch. I had to fill out an accident report at work.. then head to my chiropractor. He got my back straightened out pretty good but still hurts a little. My knee is another story. I may have to go see my orthopedic surgeon who did my other knee surgeries. But anyhow, my chiropractor told me to go home and ice it plus not go to work tomorrow. I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow afternoon.
With that said... I organized my paints. I put the final touch on an art journal page I did last week. I added a stamped sentiment.
Not sure how happy I am with it. Definitely not my best page. But, I used my Close To My Heart Watercolor paint set using our watercolor paint brushes and painted a wash type background and then doodled or zentangled over it. I added a little saying "Laugh as much as you breathe" from the CTMH Wavy Blooms stamp set in Cranberry ink. The drawing was done with sharpies and Sukura Micron Pens.
