Zutter Bind It All and Some News

Good evening my friends in Blog Land...   I have some changes coming into play at the end of the month.  I will no longer be a Close To My Heart Consultant.  This is mainly due to time restraints.

It was a wonderful 2 years with the company, but sometimes one has to move on.  That's not so say I will never return to the company.  It is just that right now, the time is not right.  I need to work on growing my social media following and my Etsy Store.

The other thing is that I am selling my Zutter Bind It All with the tote bag for it.  I had acquired a Cinch and had to decide which I wanted to keep and which I wanted to pass on to someone else.  Below are some pictures.  I am asking $45 for everything and $12 shipping.  If you are interested, you can email me.  The little bag for it does have a small spot on it.  It is in one of the pics.

Thanks and will catch ya later-----

The New Close To My Heart Expressions Idea Book Is Now Live

Good morning...   How was everyone's Christmas and New Year?  Santa was good to us in our house this season.  I got my iPad and my DH got a nice Android Tablet that included a case and keyboard. The kids made out like bandits again, like they always do.

So, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.....

The new Close To My Heart Expressions Idea book is now live on my CTMH store site.  You can view it online or download a pdf version.  Just click here to see what is new!

What is coming up soon....  I will have a video of a project using the January Stamp of The Month.  Make sure you check back for that.  I am hoping to record it today and have it up tonight or tomorrow.  You don't want to miss it.

Good evening....

I am going to hold a card making workshop online Saturday June 20th at 10am Eastern time.  The time could change if that will not work for the majority of the attendees.  How this is going to work is I am going to feature the Taste of Summer Paper pack and stamp set that is only available during the Month of May.  Those who purchase it from me will be sent an invite to a live video conference and we will all create together.  The workshop is free to those who purchase the items from me.

At the end of this post, I will list links to the items you need to purchase from me to be able to attend the for free and then a list of optional items.   If you do not purchase the products from me, you can still attend for a $12 fee.

The 20th of June gives you a month to get your stuff.  Now, you do need to order the Taste of Summer paper and stamp by the end of the May because after May 31 it will no longer be available.

Items Needed

You will need ink, a stamping block, adhesive, 3D foam tape or Dimensionals, may use some bakers twine  and any embellishments you may wish to add.  The following items are suggestions but not required to have free access to the workshop.

Letter From Ashish Arora Extending Trial Subscriptions

Hello!
Millions of projects have been created in Design Space, and every day we are adding more and more users and tens of thousands of projects. For the past year, we have had very few unscheduled outages and our systems have been very stable. In the past three weeks we have had a couple of outages for a few hours. We recognize that this is unacceptable to both you and us.
As a growing company, we have been upgrading our systems to scale for the increased activity and to get ready for hundreds of thousands of new users. In the process of these enhancements, we inadvertently introduced some issues that have resulted in a few unscheduled outages. We take this seriously and we understand that in addition to this being a creative passion, you also depend on our systems to meet your personal commitments.
We are working with our leading technology providers to identify the root cause. In the next few days, you may see a few more brief outages as we test different parts of our system. We will try to minimize these outages. We assure you that we are building a rock-solid infrastructure to help match our customers' growing needs.
Please accept our apology with a free 2-week extension to your trial subscription.
This additional 2-week subscription was added today, Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
If you would like to see how many days are left in your trial subscription, log in to Cricut.com, click on your name at the top right, and then choose "Subscription" at the bottom left. Your remaining days will display under the heading "Time Remaining."

We want to help you take full advantage of your extended subscription. A few ways to identify projects and images included in your subscription are:
  1. Projects: Go to the Design Space landing page at www.cricut.com/design and choose "In Subscription" from the menu in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Images: On the design screen, click "Insert Image." Open the Filters menu in the upper right corner (the funnel icon) and select "Subscription" under the Ownership section.
  3. Fonts: Once you've added text, select it and open the second menu in the Edit panel to view the list of fonts. Fonts that are yours or are part of subscription do not have a price next to them.
Please enjoy your extended subscription access!
Happy crafting,
Ashish Arora, CEO

The Explore Air Now Available!!! FREE SHIPPING in March

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links.

Just when you thought that Cricut's Explore® machine couldn't get any more amazing, they are now introducing their Cricut Explore Air!

This new machine has all the incredible features of the Cricut Explore®, but now it has built-in Bluetooth technology - so your projects can go wherever you go! In addition to being able to cut just about anything, including leather, balsa wood, fabric, vinyl, craft foam, and even silk, cartridges are also included in the software. So anytime you want to use a different cartridge, you just do a quick search on your iPad and it brings up all the images on the cart. How efficient is that?!

By far this is the most advanced electronic cutting machine on the market with an unbelievable amount of helpful, time-saving features. While there are almost too many to mention, I can't resist sharing a few more of my favorites:

  • It's wireless and compatible with Cricut Design Space iPad app.
  • Since it's wireless, all projects can be saved to the cloud, which allows users to conveniently swap between their laptop and iPad.
  • Cartridges are linked to your Cricut ID and delivered over the cloud. So once you've loaded a cartridge, you have it everywhere you go.
  • There's no overlay simply because it's not needed! You just lay all of your cuts out in the Cricut Design Space app and you can see everything you are cutting all at once. So goodbye handbooks!
  • It comes with a ton of "make-it-now" projects. You just send them straight to the machine and they are ready to go. You can also customize them with your own font and images!
  • Fonts and images can be uploaded for free - the machine can actually print writing that looks just like handwriting! You can also draw and upload pictures to the machine without having to cut anything out.
The Cricut Explore Air is really just amazing - and so fun to use! If you've been thinking about upgrading your cutting machine, now is the time to do it! Especially since you can get free shipping with the code MARCHSHIP. Now you can really cut a rug to celebrate!

My Recipes

Hello all,

I have a new blog in addition to to this one.  Geeese  I should be a blogging queen.  But, this blog and my new one for my recipes will be the main ones that I will start updating regularly.

I started the new blog because I find so many good recipes online and in my HUGE collection of cookbooks and want to share what I make.  I do give my sources for my recipes, whether it was in a book, website or passed down to me in my family.

I was getting tired of cooking the same old things all the time.  I love trying new things.  Go ahead and check it out.  It is only a few days old.  But subscribe, follow etc and watch as I build up my collection.

Hello!!! I know it has been a while, but I have good news. I became a grandma last night. My grandaughter was born at 9:46pm in Jacksonville, NC. Her name is Ella Mae Sinsley. She is tiny weighing in at 5 pounds 6 ounces. The doctors had to induce labor because she wasn't gaining weight like she should. But looks like mamma and baby will be fine. Daddy is my oldest son Aaron. Pictured above is my son with his new daughter.

Need Your Help. McKenzy's Story

Meet McKenzy Lynn Swope, born July 12, 2001.  Here is this brave little girl's story.......

A week before McKenzy's 10th birthday, she was diagnosed with a life threatening disease.  She started having nose bleeds and high fevers.  After much testing and misdiagnosing, they found out that she had Leukemia.  She immediately started treatment and soon after was sent into a seizure because of one of the medications.  This seizure put her in a coma and in the ICU.  Everyone was terrified and when she woke up it was truly a miracle.  The doctors weren't sure if there would be permanent brain damage or not.  They didn't know if she'd ever speak or remember anyone again.  When McKenzy woke up, she instantly asked for her mother which her family knew was a good sign.  However, her head kept leaning to one side.  She found it almost impossible to hold her head straight or look straight at who she was talking to.  After a while, this too went away.  McKenzy continued treatment and soon was told she was in remission.  She had only 9 treatments left in maintenance when everyone got the horrible news.  Her Leukemia was back.  She is now going through all of the treatments again and losing her hair again.  McKenzy is such a bright, smart and loving 11 year old girl and "crafty" too.  She is such a brave little girl.  She faces all of this with a smile on her face, never showing fear or weakness.  Her biggest dream is to meet her crush, Justin Bieber.

Now, for the part where you come in.  McKenzy's aunt works with me.  She said that McKenzy loves to do crafts.  Over the next couple weeks, I am taking donations for children's crafts that she can do in the hospital or at home.  McKenzy is currently back in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh because 2 nights ago she started running a fever again.  The kinds of donations I am looking for are craft items suitable for children.  If you would like to send a craft to me, email me at mysticjenn@gmail.com and I will send you my mailing address.  The other option is you can make a monetary donation via paypal and I will go to Michaels or JoAnn's in my area and pick some items up for her. If you make a monetary donation, click the donation button below.  I want McKenzy's eyes to just  light up.

Also, I am looking for someone willing to make her a smash / junk journal.  I am not good with these kinds of minis.  If you would like to volunteer to make one, leave a comment on this post.

Thank You for your support......   Leukemia is something that hits close to home for me after the horrible disease took the life of my cousin 2 1/2 years ago.....  feel free to include an uplifting card to McKenzy.

New Poll

Good morning faithful followers. I have been thinking about doing swaps here at Paper This and That. Before I attempt this, I want to see how much interest I would have. So, if you would be so kind to answer my poll in the top right of my side bar, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time

Introducing My Design Team

I am feeling much better now and finally got to choose my design team.  I received many applications and everyone is so so so talented.  It was not an easy decision.  I pondered over it for a couple days, kept revisiting blogs and reviewing pics submitted.  Those who were not chosen, don't dispair.  I still have plans for you over the next few months.  Some may be guest designers or even participate in blog hops.

So, I want to congradulate the following:

*Brandi Criminger

*Sandy Hentzel

*Gloria M

*Judy-Ann Rosti

*Janetlynne Hood

*Amy Pickeral

*Meg Farris

I was only going to choose 5 but found that I couldn't limit myself to 5.  I have chosen 7.  I will be working on the page of my design team over the next couple days, getting pictures and profiles up on my blog under the Design Team link.

Just A Little Update

I don't mean to be MIA..  but I have been driving myself crazy with videos.  I just got a Panasonic camcorder this past weekend and trying to figure everything out about it.  It was only $80 at our Big Lots.  I am disappointed though.  It records fine..  great for home movies..  but for tutorials and web broadcasts that I want to do...  the editing software has a lot to be desired.  My professional software won't pull the video in..  says no Codac or something like that..  The editing software for the camcorder is primative to say the least.  I designed a title screen finally but can't figure out how to pull that in.  I may have to go back to just using my digital camera in video mode to record my stuff for my blog.   At least I can edit it easier.  I have my first video tutorial planned.  Recorded it once and then deleted it because I couldn't edit it the way I wanted to and it needed work.  Back to the drawing board and hopefully I will have something for you this weekend.

Update

I am checking in with all my followers.  I have been away because I had a back injury and have not been able to much of anything.  I still had to go to work and it was hard to make it through the day.  I  just could not sit in front of my computer very long, maybe long enough to check email and that was it.  I do apologize for my absence.  My back is getting better.  I am not 100% yet but slowing getting better.  I am hoping to get back in the swing of things by next week.

Thanks for your understanding and patients.
