Hello all,

I have a new blog in addition to to this one.  Geeese  I should be a blogging queen.  But, this blog and my new one for my recipes will be the main ones that I will start updating regularly.

I started the new blog because I find so many good recipes online and in my HUGE collection of cookbooks and want to share what I make.  I do give my sources for my recipes, whether it was in a book, website or passed down to me in my family.

I was getting tired of cooking the same old things all the time.  I love trying new things.  Go ahead and check it out.  It is only a few days old.  But subscribe, follow etc and watch as I build up my collection.

I am a Grandma!!!

Hello!!! I know it has been a while, but I have good news. I became a grandma last night. My grandaughter was born at 9:46pm in Jacksonville, NC. Her name is Ella Mae Sinsley. She is tiny weighing in at 5 pounds 6 ounces. The doctors had to induce labor because she wasn't gaining weight like she should. But looks like mamma and baby will be fine. Daddy is my oldest son Aaron. Pictured above is my son with his new daughter.

Good morning Blogland.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful day today.  We are finally having spring like weather....  what a long winter.  The groundhog lied.  I sooooo want to take a trip to Punxsutawney with a shot gun and hunt ground hog for ground hot stew.

New Blog

Just an announcement here...  I have another blog that I started.  I will still use this one for my scrapbooking and paper crafting.  I am falling back on my old love....  graphic design.  I have a graphic design blog which I will show case some of my creations.  I do business cards, flyer, brochures, web banners and more.  If you want to check it out the address is http://jennsgraphicdesign.blogspot.com.

Need Your Help. McKenzy's Story

Meet McKenzy Lynn Swope, born July 12, 2001.  Here is this brave little girl's story.......

A week before McKenzy's 10th birthday, she was diagnosed with a life threatening disease.  She started having nose bleeds and high fevers.  After much testing and misdiagnosing, they found out that she had Leukemia.  She immediately started treatment and soon after was sent into a seizure because of one of the medications.  This seizure put her in a coma and in the ICU.  Everyone was terrified and when she woke up it was truly a miracle.  The doctors weren't sure if there would be permanent brain damage or not.  They didn't know if she'd ever speak or remember anyone again.  When McKenzy woke up, she instantly asked for her mother which her family knew was a good sign.  However, her head kept leaning to one side.  She found it almost impossible to hold her head straight or look straight at who she was talking to.  After a while, this too went away.  McKenzy continued treatment and soon was told she was in remission.  She had only 9 treatments left in maintenance when everyone got the horrible news.  Her Leukemia was back.  She is now going through all of the treatments again and losing her hair again.  McKenzy is such a bright, smart and loving 11 year old girl and "crafty" too.  She is such a brave little girl.  She faces all of this with a smile on her face, never showing fear or weakness.  Her biggest dream is to meet her crush, Justin Bieber.

Now, for the part where you come in.  McKenzy's aunt works with me.  She said that McKenzy loves to do crafts.  Over the next couple weeks, I am taking donations for children's crafts that she can do in the hospital or at home.  McKenzy is currently back in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh because 2 nights ago she started running a fever again.  The kinds of donations I am looking for are craft items suitable for children.  If you would like to send a craft to me, email me at mysticjenn@gmail.com and I will send you my mailing address.  The other option is you can make a monetary donation via paypal and I will go to Michaels or JoAnn's in my area and pick some items up for her. New Look For Valentine's Day and Updates

Hello to my faithful followers...

I am pretty much checking in.  I decided to update the look of my blog to reflect Valentine's Day. After all, Christmas was over how many weeks ago???  geeee I forget.  Time just flies when you are having fun.

I have been busy working on a few projects..  mostly for swaps.  I am going to be reopening my store on etsy here soon.  I will post the details later. It was closed for a while.  I had an issue where I mailed an item to a customer and it got lost in the mail.  Etsy tried to contact me and I guess everything got stached in my spam box (which I never use to check until now).  But got the issue resolved and ready for a fresh start.  I have to get some things made for my store.  I plan on making some mini albums, handmade flowers and embellishments and what ever else I can think of.

My Christmas Present - A Daughter-in Law

Hello all of my blogger friends!!!   Well, this has been a busy week with Christmas and a wedding.  My son came home for Christmas and got married yesterday.  They were supposed to be married last summer but he couldn't get leave.  He got leave for Christmas and doesn't know when he will be home again.

Got My Glue Glider Pro

I finally got my GlueGlider Pro Plus yesterday.  They sent with it one of each of the different mulit directional adhesives.  I played with it a little.  The jury is still on on how much I like it.  It seemed to work fine for me...  but I will still think twice before ordering from OhMyCrafts again.

OhMyCrafts Woes and Glue Glider Pro Plus

Hello everyone...

 I don't normally do any ranting on my blog.  In fact, I believe this is the first.  I am a little disappointed in OhMyCrafts.com ..  I placed an order on Sept 22 and the status is STILL "processing".  It started with an email from them with a promo code to get 30% any order under $30.  On top of that, thanks to Lisa, owner of minialbumscraps.ning.com, I wanted a Glue Glider Pro Plus.  OhMyCrafts had it on sale.  So I jumped on this for the sale plus the 30% off my order.  Have any of you had issues with getting orders in a timely manner from OhMyCrafts?  I don't think I will ever order from them again!!!

To make matters worse, I could have gotten it for the same money, including shipping, on Amazon and would have had my tool a long time ago.

I sent an email to the customer service and the reply was not satisfactory.  They said that orders are being delayed because of the huge response to their sale. They expect to be back on normal shipping schedule in a couple of weeks!!!   That is not good enough for me.  I think they need to have the man power to back up their sales.  NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again.  Just be for warned my faithful followers.

By the way....  anyone else here use the Glue Glider Pro Plus??  If so, please leave a comment and let me know what you think of it, if you like it and how it compairs to the ATG guns.

Thanks to everyone who played along.  All of your projects were great.  Tomorrow I hope to get all of the design teams projects up for August's challenge...  I will say that Glitterbabe Digi's will be sponsoring another challenge here on Paper This and That.  Another hint is back to school.  The rest of the details you will find out tomorrow.

I found this great new place to hang out...  it is a mini album scrapbooking group called Mini Album Scraps. Tons of swaps going on..  they take extensive measures to prevent flakers ( swappers who do not full fill their end of a swap).  It is safe and lots of fun.  You can almost always find some gals chatting in the chat window.  I will be posting some of my swap projects as I complete them.  If you say pretty please with a cherry on top I may give you a sneak peak at my Twilight New Moon Tags for a swap on Mini Album Scraps.  :)

Until Tomorrow...  have projects to work on, not to mention having to get some sleep sometime tonight.  Had an exhausting day at work today..  I am tired..  don't even know how much work on my tags I will get done.

My Afternoon With Lisa From Mini Album Scraps Ning Group

Good evening.  I have been waiting to get this video together. I joined this awesome ning group.  Out of all of the groups that I have joined, this one is one of my favs...  It is called Mini Album Scraps.  To sweeten the deal, the owner of the group lives only 15 - 20 minutes away from me!!!!  Her name is Lisa...  Hi LISA!!  I got to go visit her this past weekend.  I picked up an order from her store..  she sells Tim Holtz stuff..  and she gave me a bunch of goodies to go along with my purchase.  My video got cut off because my batteries in my camera died..  I didn't get to show the spounges for the Tim Holtz applicator or all the die cuts she gave me to bring home and .30  12 x 12 chipboard pieces.

Winner of June Challenge and Some Updates

Hello everyone.  It has been a busy time for me.  Just to play catch up, I just found out that my son who is the Marine, he is going to Afganistan next month.  I have been trying to plan on traveling down from PA to Fort Lee, VA to see him and take him to Bush Gardens.  He can leave the base on week ends but has to stay with in a 100 mile radius of the base.

In addition, things at my work are not real stable.  Next Spring not sure if the company will still be open or not.  I am going to my back up plan.  I use to be a licensed realtor back in the 90's.  I let my license go into ecrow back in 1998.  I have been out of the business for 13 years and have decided to get back into it.  The real estate market is going to make a come back and I am going to have my foot in the door when it happens.  But because it has been more than 5 years since I renewed my license, I have to retake my state board exams.  I am doing that on Wednesday.  So after Wednesday, I will post the July Challenge.

Not Been Feeling Well

I am checking in.  I have not posted at all this week  because of the flu.  If having sciatic nerve issues was not bad enough, my boyfriend, Brian got the flu last weekend and I got it the next day.  We have been down for a week... both of us missed work the entire week.  Today is the first day in a week that I even feel almost human.  I think I have a touch of strep throat with the flu.  I had no voice yesterday.  If I am feeling better tomorrow, then tomorrow night I will open up a chat room and announce my new design team.  On monday I will announce the winner of the cricut cart as well.

Just A Little Update

I don't mean to be MIA..  but I have been driving myself crazy with videos.  I just got a Panasonic camcorder this past weekend and trying to figure everything out about it.  It was only $80 at our Big Lots.  I am disappointed though.  It records fine..  great for home movies..  but for tutorials and web broadcasts that I want to do...  the editing software has a lot to be desired.  My professional software won't pull the video in..  says no Codac or something like that..  The editing software for the camcorder is primative to say the least.  I designed a title screen finally but can't figure out how to pull that in.  I may have to go back to just using my digital camera in video mode to record my stuff for my blog.   At least I can edit it easier.  I have my first video tutorial planned.  Recorded it once and then deleted it because I couldn't edit it the way I wanted to and it needed work.  Back to the drawing board and hopefully I will have something for you this weekend.

Challenges and Design Team Call

Good morning everyone...   ok..  here is the scoop.  I am going to try to have a new challenge every month.  I am going to try to have projects due around mid month.  I understand that many other blogs have due dates at the end. 

Here is what I am looking for.......................

DESIGN TEAM:  I am also looking to put together a design team.  I think I want to start with 7..  knowing me I will probably choose more  LOL...  I am going to do my best to stick to my 7...  It will  be for a period of 6 months since right now there will only be one challenge a month unless more is necessary.  E-mail Me  if you are interested with a pic of a recent project and your crafting background.  Also if you have ever been on any other design teams and if so, which ones.  New designers welcome..  you do not need to have served on a team before to be considered.  The dead line to submit an application is next Saturday, Feb 5, 2011 at Midnight...

Good Morning In Blog Land

Good morning fellow and fellowette bloggers..  This is just a simple chit chat post.  Some good and some not so good..

First I got my first letter from my oldest son, Aaron yesterday.  He left 2 weeks ago Sunday for Parris Island, Marine Corp boot camp.  I am so proud of him. He is doing fine  (of course I am sure some of the letter was staged).  He just had a birthday on Sunday as well.  He loves letters...  if anyone wants to send him a birthday card, email me and I will send you his address.  He turned 23.

The not so good stuff...   please keep me in your prayers.  I have been having a lot of back problems for years.  It came to a head this weekend.  I almost could not walk.  The doctor says I have Sciatica...  pain shoots from my lower back into my right hip and down my leg.  Then it sits in my lower part of my calf and throbs.  It takes ice packs and 3 Alieve to even get a little releif.  I have to sit all day at work which doesn't help.  I had to leave early yesterday because I couldn't take it.

Ohhh  Happy Birthday to Robyn over at My Pink Stamper who turned 38 yesterday!!!!
